MAINTENANCE GUIDE
Maison FEBRONIE pays particular attention to the choice of materials and offers you collections made from natural fibers such as linen or cotton.
We pride ourselves on crafting products that are handmade by artisans. The result of this careful craftsmanship may reveal small imperfections in our weaves, which are not considered defects.
In order to preserve the planet and your textiles, we wanted to present you with some useful recommendations:
We systematically recommend an initial cold wash to fix the colors and preserve the properties of your textiles.
We also recommend washing at 30 degrees, although some items can withstand higher temperatures (please check the label). However, we would like to remind you that 80% of the energy consumed by a washing machine is used to heat the water.
Machine washing is more economical than hand washing, and if you treat stains immediately before putting them in the washing machine, you can wash them in cold water.
Replace fabric softener with white vinegar to soften laundry and remove soap scum.
Maintain your washing machine monthly by running a high temperature cycle with white vinegar
Prefer air drying (tumble drying uses even more energy than washing and is not gentle on your textiles), the sun also helps to disinfect and whiten your laundry.
Our tip for maintaining your whites: Remember to save used lemons, so you can slip them into your washing machine when you wash whites. Consider placing them in a laundry bag so that pieces don't end up in your drains.
Cocorico: In 2025, France will be the first country in the world to make the installation of microparticle filters on washing machines mandatory!

Cotton gauze:
Cotton gauze is a lightweight, soft, and airy fabric that's one of our favorite materials for bed linens. However, it requires gentle care to preserve its texture and slightly wrinkled appearance.
DO's ✅
-
Wash cold or at low temperature (30°C maximum):
-
Cotton gauze is delicate and does not require high temperatures to be clean. A gentle wash is ideal.
-
Use a mild detergent:
-
Choose a liquid detergent suitable for delicate fabrics, without bleaching agents or aggressive additives.
-
Wash separately or with light fabrics:
-
Wash cotton gauze separately or with other lightweight garments to avoid friction with rougher materials.
-
Gentle spin or no spin at all:
-
Reduce the spin cycle (maximum 800 rpm) or stop it completely to preserve the natural crease and avoid breaking the fibers.
-
Air drying:
-
Hang the cotton gauze on a hanger or lay it flat to dry gently. This prevents excessive wrinkling and shrinkage.
-
Respect its crumpled effect:
-
Cotton gauze has that natural, crinkled charm! To preserve this effect, do not iron it. For a smoother finish, you can iron it at a low temperature, with steam, on the reverse side.
DON'Ts ❌
-
Do not use fabric softener or bleach:
-
These products can alter the softness and structure of cotton gauze.
-
Avoid the dryer:
-
While the dryer may be tempting, it can shrink and weaken cotton gauze. If you absolutely must use it, you'll need to select an ultra-gentle or "delicates" cycle.
-
Do not rub the stains too hard:
-
In case of stains, gently dab with a clean cloth and cold water mixed with a little mild soap. Avoid sudden movements that could damage the fabric.
-
Do not overload it in the machine:
-
Overloading prevents clothes from moving properly in the drum and can crush or damage the cotton gauze.
-
Do not leave to soak for a long time:
-
Cotton gauze absorbs water easily, and prolonged soaking could weaken its fibers.
